In a surprise appearance, Rush shocked fans with their first performance back since 2015, while debuting new drummer Anika Nilles with a thrilling rendition of “Finding My Way.” The energetic performance is the first time Rush has hit the stage without late great drummer Neil Pert, who passed away in 2020.
The Juno Awards opened their ceremony with the surprise performance, and when asked about the song choice, Lee responded, “You really can’t ask us what song to play. If we have to choose one song, it’s almost impossible. We have so many. So we just asked management, and they said first song, first album.” “Also,” Lifeson added, “It’s the only song we know how to play.”
The performance is the first of many to come, as Rush is hitting the road for their Fifty Something tour, which will kick off on June 7th at the Forum, Los Angeles.
