Flame Mango AJ Contrabass 5 Elite

This gently used excellent condition 2017 NAMM bass features the original body shape used on Anthony Jackson’s first signature Fodera, the AJ Contrabass. While the shape was later replaced with Anthony’s Presentation and Presentation II hollow-body, the AJ Contrabass shape remains a memorable and integral piece of Fodera’s history. The instrument features a Mahogany body, Swamp Ash tone block, and Bocote fingerboard. Bocote is a very special fingerboard material for us. It is dense and has similar properties to Pau Ferro and Ebony in regards to tone. Combined with its Mahogany body, it produces a rich and punchy tone with a powerful low end, aggressive and growling mids, and crystal-clear highs. To go along with the “old-school” Fodera vibe of the AJ Contrabass body shape, this build features a hand-rubbed oil finish, as well as a gorgeous Flamed Mango solid-top and a Bocote wood and Mother of Pearl butterfly!

Redwood Burl Imperial 5 Elite

This gently used, excellent condition 2017 NAMM Imperial 5 Elite features a Mahogany body, Swamp Ash tone block, Red Oak neck, and Macassar Ebony fingerboard. This instrument has a rich, powerful tone with a warm and driving low end, growling lower mids, and clear, bell-like highs. We selected a highly figured Redwood Burl to use as the solid top to adorn the front of this instrument, combined with a gorgeous and highly figured Macassar Ebony fingerboard. Turn the bass over and you will see a 5-piece Red Oak neck, Wenge stringers, and a Maple center leading to a beautiful Ribbon Striped Mahogany body!

Butterscotch Blonde Emperor 5 Standard Classic

This used Butterscotch Blonde Emperor 5 Standard Classic features an Ash body with a beautifully figured Birdseye Maple board for a punchy and aggressive tone. Matched with our Fodera / Duncan Dual Coil pickups, this bass delivers both a true 70’s J-style tone and modern flexibility. Combined with an upgraded 4-band Standard preamp, this bass will fit in on any gig. This instrument is in player condition with minor cosmetic blemishes and normal wear. It also comes with a 1-year warranty on wood and electronics.
