Best known for his work with Lukas Nelson, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Lady Gaga, and Chris Cornell, bassist Corey McCormick has just released a new EP with his trio Organa.
The band’s funky debut release offers seven new tracks driven by the deep grooves of McCormick, who also produced, wrote, sang, and mixed the album.
Established in late 2016 by McCormick, guitarist Nick Lewis, and vocalist/percussionist Gabe Velasquez Organa is an eclectic mix of funk, soul, rock, and jazz. These three gentlemen came together to fulfill their need to make art that tells a story and also makes you dance!
Their debut EP titled “The Pheonix” offers are funky and fresh. Recorded at Hen House studio in Venice Beach. Organa enlisted many great LA based players including Matt Politano on keys, Rafael Moreira on guitar (Pink, Christina Aguilera, Paul Stanly), Jeff Waldon saxophone, Tato Melgar on percussion (Lukas Nelson, Neil Young) Eman Cervantes on Drums(Andy Grammar), Alex Gonzalez on drums (Aloe Black), & Asdru Sierra on trumpet (Ozomatli).
