Chris Wyse Announces New Solo Album, Releases Single

"Black Owl" is the first track from the rocker's upcoming solo album 'Wyse'

Currently the bassist for The Hollywood Vampires Chris Wyse’ bass skills are on full explosive display in “Black Owl”. Layering bowed upright bass with blistering riffs and power on bass guitar, you are taken on a new adventure.

Chris was inspired to do a solo album after writing the layered bowed bass piece, “A Pitiful Beauty” (titled by Johnny Depp) for The Hollywood Vampires album “Rise.” Gothic concepts and imagery take you on a unique theatric journey while tantalizing your ears with innovative bass tones and riffs. One unique aspect of this song is the fact that it is all bass, drums and vocals giving the bass center stage with no guitar. You will hear new parts every listen that you may not have heard the first time. It’s a heavy and catchy track featuring one of the most edgy bassists in the business. His new album, Wyse, will showcase all of the electric and upright bassists skills on full display.

Born in Queens, Wyse became fascinated with music at an early age. After immersing himself in the Celtic tunes his Irish parents fancied, he discovered KISS, The Doors, and Led Zeppelin in grade school, and all bets were off.

Currently, a member of the supergroup, The Hollywood Vampires with Johnny Depp, Joe Perry, Alice Cooper, Tommy Henriksen, Glen Sobel and Buck Johnson. Chris has recorded and played with a vast amount of artists including Ace Frehley, Ozzy, The Cult, Jerry Cantrell, Scott Weiland, Tal Bachman, and more.
