It’s been a little while since we’ve heard new music from Steve Jenkins and The Coaxial Flutter, but that spell has been broken as the bass player has just released a video for his new song “Mecha.” Jenkins plays all of the instruments and programmed the drums on the new track, which features his 5-string Spector bass that provides the perfect tone for the driving new song. “Mecha” is the first new release from The Coaxial Flutter since Jenkins’ 2013 self-titled album.
“I’ve spent a lot of time over the last year working on different types of music and making tracks,” says the virtuosic bassist. “For a long time, I’ve wanted to revisit the Coaxial Flutter in the form of a follow up to my critically acclaimed album from 2013. Ultimately, I was never all that happy with the results. That is, until I wrote this tune “mecha” last week. I played and programmed all of the instruments. Another thing folks might not know is that I’ve been shedding a lot of guitar as of late as well as bass.”
