Tanya O’Callaghan is never afraid to take a leap of faith. The Irish-born bassist’s determination, passion and talent began to pay off the further she spread her wings internationally after taking the music scene of Ireland by storm. She has toured, recorded and written with legends such as Whitesnake, Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden), Maynard James Keenan (Tool/APC), Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) Steven Adler (Guns N’ Roses) Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme), The Riverdance, The Voice, Orianthi, Michael Angelo Batio, Kevin Godley, Sharon Corr (The Corrs) and David Grey, to name a few.
A whirlwind of energy, positivity and determination, it’ll come as no surprise that Tanya is also a speaker, writer and lifelong advocate and activist for animal, human, social and environmental issues. A force to be reckoned – it’s fair to say that this Irish lass has made her mark on the music scene both at home and internationally!
Every badass who dawns as bass as she does needs the right gear for their sound to match their energy. Recently, O’Callaghan began using DiMarzio pickups on her Sadowsky basses, and the results have been as powerful as you’d expect.
In this video, she test drives DiMarzio’s new Relentless J’s to show their range and the scope of their tone.
