On January 22nd, 2026 Mike Dirnt received Bass Magazine’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2027 Bass Magazine Awards. After being presented his award by Mark Hoppus (Blink 182) and Ronnie Ficarro (Mammoth) , Mike gave a heartfelt speech followed by a now legendary surprise performance with his fellow bandmates of Green Day. This high energy performance featured crowd favorites from Dookie and American Idiot, and Dookie era fan favorite J.A.R.

This intimate performance closed out an evening of incredible performances by fellow award recipients Les Claypool (Primus), Marcus Miller, Laura Lee (Khruangbin), and Blu DeTiger.
