United States Air Force Bassist Colin Trusedell to Release New Album

Veteran jazz bassist Colin Trusedell’s brand new release, “The Places We’re Taken,” features 7 new original compositions inspired by the twists that life throws at you as well as musical flavors from different regions of the world.

Motivated by a 4-month, 10 country tour as a musical diplomat for the United States, Trusedell’s latest musical offering combines middle eastern sounds with contemporary jazz and features acrobatic solos from JOSIAH JOYCE on guitar, BEN THOMPSON on piano, and TYLER KENNAMER on drums. The album marks a milestone of artistic expression for Trusedell as this is his first album after significant life challenges driven by the pandemic and military life.

This is Trusedell’s eighth release as a bandleader, following his award-winning releases, “The Quarantine Chronicles” (2020), “Without All the Chatter” (2017), “Quartet of Jazz Death Vol. 2” (2016), “Quartet of Jazz Death” (2014) and “Some of My Best Friends Are…Divas” (2013). Trusedell is currently an active-duty U.S. Air Force musician at the USAF Band of Mid America, serving as the Musical Director and group leader for Starlifter, a versatile musical ensemble
that tours the world.
