Veteran jazz bassist Colin Trusedellโ€™s brand new release, โ€œThe Places Weโ€™re Taken,โ€ features 7 new original compositions inspired by the twists that life throws at you as well as musical flavors from different regions of the world.

Motivated by a 4-month, 10 country tour as a musical diplomat for the United States, Trusedellโ€™s latest musical offering combines middle eastern sounds with contemporary jazz and features acrobatic solos from JOSIAH JOYCE on guitar, BEN THOMPSON on piano, and TYLER KENNAMER on drums. The album marks a milestone of artistic expression for Trusedell as this is his first album after significant life challenges driven by the pandemic and military life.

This is Trusedellโ€™s eighth release as a bandleader, following his award-winning releases, โ€œThe Quarantine Chroniclesโ€ (2020), โ€œWithout All the Chatterโ€ (2017), โ€œQuartet of Jazz Death Vol. 2โ€ (2016), โ€œQuartet of Jazz Deathโ€ (2014) and โ€œSome of My Best Friends Areโ€ฆDivasโ€ (2013). Trusedell is currently an active-duty U.S. Air Force musician at the USAF Band of Mid America, serving as the Musical Director and group leader for Starlifter, a versatile musical ensemble
that tours the world.
