Trish Imbrogno to Release Debut EP ‘Bluegrass Love Songs Volume One ‘

The debut drops on November 7th

Trish Imbrogno, Trish Plays Bass, has released her debut single “Think of What You’ve Done” —the first track from her upcoming EP Bluegrass Love Songs, Volume One, which drops on November 7th.

Featuring a stellar lineup of powerhouse women in bluegrass—Becky Buller (fiddle), Murphy Henry (banjo/vocals), Rainy Miatke (mandolin), Dede Wyland (guitar/vocals)—the EP showcases Trish’s signature upright bass work and rich, emotionally resonant vocals.

“These are all tunes I’ve been singing for a while,” Trish explains. “I’ve always gravitated toward the love songs—maybe even the darker ones. They just felt like the most honest place to start.”

Trish’s journey to bluegrass was anything but traditional. A classically trained bassist, she began studying at age 14 and went on to train under legendary players including Jeffrey Turner (Pittsburgh Symphony), Curtis Burris (National Symphony), and Missy Raines. After nearly 25 years of orchestral playing, she traded her concert blacks for cowboy boots, embracing the rhythm and raw emotion of American roots music.

Her diverse resume includes performances at prestigious venues like Carnegie HallHeinz Hall, and the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, as well as recording and performing with regional and national acts such as the Jakob’s Ferry StragglersShameless Hex, and Emily Pinkerton. Trish currently performs with the Sweaty Already String BandMolly Alphabet Band, and Grant Street Grifters.

A 2018 graduate of IBMA’s Leadership Bluegrass and a proud member of the Fishman artist family, Trish is now stepping into the spotlight with a debut that blends virtuosity with heart.

Bluegrass Love Songs, Volume One is a compelling entry into bluegrass for Trish—and marks the beginning of a new chapter for one of Western Pennsylvania’s most in-demand upright bassists.
