Trickfish Amplification proudly announces the J-Core Preamp. Designed for simplicity and performance, the J-Core Preamp offers our most popular Flex Core preamp configuration in a hassle-free Jazz Bass plate drop-in design—no modifications or soldering required. Featuring Mike Pope’s signature 4-band EQ design, the J-Core delivers adjustable EQ points and enhanced signal routing. Intuitive rocker-style internal mini switches allow players to individually fine-tune frequencies for bass, low mid, high mid, and treble. Incremental output gain adjustments provide versatile control to match your playing style. The addition of a vintage-style passive tone control provides a natural high-end roll-off, for classic warm tones. The J-Core effortlessly fits into the Jazz Bass control cavity and is powered by a single 9-volt battery.

Trickfish President Ryan Owens said: “The J-Core concept has been a dream for the Trickfish team since NAMM 2017 when myself, Richard Ruse, Mike Pope and David Yates sat at our AirBnB kitchen table discussing how to make the Flexcore circuit streamlined into a single PCB design that would mount seamlessly into a Jazz Bass cavity. If feels great to see this design finally come to life and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the result!
