The Wood Brothers Announce 2024 Tour

Already confirmed to tour in the United Kingdom and Europe in February, the band has just announced 18 additional shows

Following their most successful year to date, GRAMMY-nominated American roots music trio The Wood Brothers show no signs of slowing down in 2024. Already confirmed to tour in the United Kingdom and Europe in February, the band has just announced 18 additional shows spanning the West Coast and Midwest from February through April, including a two night-stand at The Fillmore in San Francisco, The Fonda in Los Angeles and The Ryman in their adopted hometown of Nashville. The first leg will be supported by Rainbow Girls. The Wood Brothers are touring in support of their most recent, critically acclaimed album Heart Is The Hero. See below for complete itinerary.

Tickets will go on-sale tomorrow, Thursday, November 9 at 10am local via artist pre-sale with code HEARTISTHEHERO. Venue pre-sale also begins tomorrow at 12pm local. General on-sale begins Friday, November 10 at 10am local.

Brothers Oliver and Chris Wood, along with honorary sibling Jano Rix, have more shows to play in 2023, as well. They’ll perform two nights in the Chicago area at Thalia Hall on November 17 and Fitzgerald’s on November 18 to benefit Beyond Hunger, while closing out the year with nine dates in the Southeast, including Tipitina’s in New Orleans and two nights at Charleston Music Hall in Charleston, SC.

“We’ve been recording and touring now for 17 years and over that time our repertoire has evolved beyond what we could have ever imagined when we first started back in the early 2000s,” notes Oliver Wood. “It’s been a really fun, creative challenge to balance the sets with songs from our earliest years alongside new material that reflects where we are as artists right now. It means so much to us to have our fans come back year after year and be so open and receptive to the music we present each evening.”

From The Wood Brothers earliest years with albums like Ways Not To Lose, Loaded and Smoke Ring Halo, for which they toured solely as a duo prior to the addition of Jano Rix, to more recent recordings like 2013’s now classic The Muse, 2018’s One Drop Of Truth, nominated for a GRAMMY Award in the category of Best Americana Album, and 2020’s Kingdom In My Mind, the band has never rested on their laurels or repeated themselves, continually exploring new themes and subject matter through their songwriting, as they simultaneously found fresh ways to approach recording, keeping the process intriguing to both themselves and their fans. Such is the case with Heart Is The Hero, released earlier this year. Recorded analog to 16-track tape, this latest effort finds its three creators embracing the chemistry of their acclaimed live shows by capturing the album’s performances in real-time direct from the studio floor with nary a computer in sight.

“We love records that come from the era of less tracks and more humanity. When you use a computer during the tracking process, you have an infinite number of tracks at your disposal, which implies that nothing is permanent, and everything can be fixed,” explains co-founding member Oliver Wood. “Tape gives you limitations that force you to be creative and intentional. You don’t look at the music on a screen; you listen to it, and you learn to focus on the feeling of the performance.”

“We are never satisfied if we are not searching for new musical recipes,” adds Jano Rix, nodding to the uncharted territory that Heart Is The Hero covers. Chris Wood agrees, adding, “We are one of those bands that isn’t easily categorized. We know what our strengths are, but we can’t help but push the envelope, as well. It’s too much fun.”
