At tonight's NIN show in New Orleans it was revealed that the Dub Trio bassist has taken over the low end duties

As Nine Inch Nails kicked off their 2026 tour, a new face was unveiled in their lineup when Stu Brooks took the stage to hold down the low end duties for the legendary outfit. Brooks, known for his work with Dominic Fike, Danny Elfman, Dub Trio, Perry Farrell, Matisyahu, 50 Cent, Mike Patton, Kanye West, and more, has been rehearsing with the band for months, but the announcement came as a surprise to NIN fans, who embraced his presence at the first show of the “Peel it Back Tour,” which took place at the Smoothie King Arena in New Orleans, LA this evening.

Before hitting the stage, Brooks told Bass Magazine, “I’m feeling excited! It’s such a huge honor to play with these musicians and have this opportunity.”

Stu Brooks is a two-time grammy nominated, Canadian born/Los Angeles-based bass player, producer, songwriter and founding member of the genre-bending band Dub Trio. He is the touring bassist, guitarist and keyboard player for Nine Inch Nails.

Stu is bassist and co-producer for the multi-award winning filmscore composer and founder of Oingo Boingo, Danny Elfman. His work on the project includes producing collaborations with Trent Reznor, Ghostemane and Iggy Pop and executive producing over 20 remixes; collectively the deluxe album “Bigger Messier”. These remixes include collaborations with Squarepusher, Zach Hill of Death Grips, Machine Girl, Xiu Xiu, Einsterzende Neubauten, Health, Ghostemane, and more.

He is also the bassist for Dominic Fike. He can be heard on tour and on the album “Sunburn”. He also appears as a duo with Dom on a number of special performances.
