Sting Accepts his 2025 Bass Magazine Lifetime Achievement Award

We traveled to Sting's NYC home to present him with the award

In 2025 we held our first annual Bass Magazine Awards. This event was created as a way to celebrate the bass players who have left an undeniable mark in the music and bass world. Sting is arguably one of the most recognizable and accomplished bass players from his work with The Police and his solo career.

Two days before the show, Sting fell ill and was unable to attend, perform and receive his award. The show went on of course, and while no one can replace Sting, the night featured unforgettable performances by Mohini Dey, John Patitucci, Justin Chancellor who surprised the audience when his fellow bandmates from Tool joined him onstage for a surprise performance, and MonoNeon who played a blistering set ft. guest performers Les Claypool of Primus and guitar virtuoso Oz Noy.

In lieu of his absence, Sting invited us out to his New York City home to present him with this honor. This video was taken almost a year after his scheduled appearance at the 2025 awards show, where we awarded him the Bass Magazine Lifetime Achievement.
