Primus recently put on a once-in-a-lifetime performance when they played the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, CA on August 6th on their Onward & Upward Tour. Opening the show was Ty Segall, who the crowd eagerly embraced. Before the main act began, a video on the band showed with interviews from Josh Homme, Stewart Copeland, Norwood Fisher, Geddy Lee, and Alex Lifeson, and more. Primus changes their setlist each show and for L.A. it was not only a very special set, but also a few special guests.

On the third song, โMy Name Is Mud,โ the first guests were brought out as Toolโs Justin Chancellor and comedian Bill Burr joined in on bass and drums. On King Crimsonโs โThela Hun Ginjeet,โย South Park co-creator Matt Stone joined in drums. With the passing of Ozzy Osborne on July 22nd, numerous bands have been paying tribute and Primus was no exception, as they played Black Sabbathโs โN.I.B.โ The last three songs of the set were fan favorites โJerry Was a Race Car Driver,โ and “Welcome to This World,โ which led into โMy Nam Is Mudโ with Tool drummer Danny Carey. The band left the stage and returned for an encore of โSouthband Pachydermโ bringing out their final guest, Mononeon, who Les Claypool presented an award to at The Bass Magazine awards back in January and also played together there for the first time.
