The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. To help aid their mission, bassist Joel Gottschalk has created a campaign to raise money towards their cause. He enlisted Nordstrand Electronics founder Carey Nordstrand to help with the drive, in which Carey went above and beyond in creating a one-off custom Acinonyx bass to auction off.
Lovingly nicknamed the “Cat Bass” in the workshop, The Acinonyx is an insanely cool, somewhat weird, and deceptively menacing instrument that has become one of the hottest pieces of gear on the market.
Inspired by the Goya Panther bass from the ‘60s and ‘70s, Carey Nordstrand’s magnificent short scale creation has taken the bass world by storm, and has quickly become one of the in-demand basses of the 2020’s.

This particular one-of-a-kind model was created by Carey himself for this auction and features a one-off custom finish in a gorgeous metallic iridescent orange (the color representing Leukemia), which isn’t available on any other instruments.
In addition to this being a single production bass guitar, the body has been signed by some of the most famous and prolific bass players in music.
