From NoTreble.com: On May 2, 2009, in the early hours of the morning, I launched No Treble.

Each year, I mark the occasion with a “Happy Birthday” post. This year’s update comes with some exciting news.

No Treble has been acquired.

Jody Miller, who many of you know from The Bass Nerds podcast and other bass-related work, is now the owner and CEO.

I’m staying on board as an advisor. Over the past few months, I’ve spent a lot of time with Jody, and this past weekend, he and I met with Kevin. I couldn’t be more confident that Jody is the right person to take the reins. I’m genuinely excited for what he’ll bring to the site and the community.

Of course, No Treble has always been a team effort. We wouldn’t be here today without the incredible contributions of so many over these 16 years. This site has been a big part of my life for a long time. What Corey and the team built here is something truly special. No Treble has always been a place where bass players could connect, learn something new, and just get inspired by the amazing things happening in the bass world. I have always loved the heart behind it, and I am so proud to keep that spirit going.

What makes this even crazier is that it is exactly ten years to the week since No Treble shared my very first video, a feature with Cody Wright. That was my first real step into this community, and now to be taking over the site feels surreal in the best way.

If you know me from The Bass Nerds Podcast, you know I love hearing people’s stories, talking gear, and just having real conversations about music and creativity. That is the energy I want to bring here. No Treble will stay true to what makes it great, but we are also going to find new ways to grow. More voices, more features, more chances to shine a light on all the incredible players out there doing their thing.

The community has always been the heart of No Treble. It is a space built on passion, curiosity, and the shared joy of playing bass. Whether you are a touring pro, a bedroom player, a gear junkie, or someone just getting started, there is room for you here. My goal is to keep that spirit alive and growing, to make sure No Treble keeps feeling like home for anyone who loves the low end.”

As I write this, we’re closing in on 20,000 articles. This one marks number 7,031 for me.
