MonoNeon Releases Live Version Of “Better Days Are Coming”

In this new live release, recorded in Sofia, Bulgaria, MonoNeon brings the song into a wider, more playful space with his band

“Better Days Are Coming” was first recorded and released as a duet between MonoNeon and his Grandma Liz, a true heartfelt collaboration of gentle optimism. Written and produced by MonoNeon, the studio version captured an intimate, sitting in the living room conversational quality, with Grandma Liz’s voice at the center of its tender charm.

On the live version MonoNeon’s lead vocal takes the spotlight, closely echoing the phrasing and twang of Grandma Liz’s singing style. Rather than replacing his grandma’s voice, his voice extends her presence, bridging the original duet with a fresh southern-soul space on the live recording.

In this new live release, recorded in Sofia, Bulgaria, MonoNeon brings the song into a wider, more playful space with his band… keyboardist DominiqueXavier, drummer Jackie Whitmill, and guitarist Peter Knudsen, the performance—taken from a board mix by FOH engineer Aaron Modarressi—feels immediate, raw and alive… like the song is discovering itself anew on stage.

MonoNeon’s bass playing also stands out as a driving force in this live recording. His lines are inventive, and full of neon character, weaving through the performance with a sense of freedom and childlike curiosity.

This live version of “Better Days Are Coming” doesn’t just revisit the original—it breathes, stretches, and sparkles! It’s a joyful, unpredictable ride, where hope feels immediate and tangible… the band’s chemistry shines, and MonoNeon’s vision turns a cherished song into an unforgettable live experience.
