MonoNeon New Single “Soul Deposit” Featuring his Grandma and Mother

“Soul Deposit” puts family, faith, and the funk once again in uncharted territory

MonoNeon’s latest single, “Soul Deposit,” puts family, faith, and the funk once again in uncharted territory. With Grandma Liz and Momma Neon featured on vocals on the track… the song shifted into something sacred for MonoNeon.

MonoNeon’s bass work, vocals and sound overall is like a new greasy thing… somehow his sound can be like a quirky combination of the black southern Baptist church and outer space!

There’s a homemade honesty to the track and lyrics. MonoNeon’s “I’m in my bedroom production style”—recording, mixing, playing keyboard, guitar, drum programming and layering every sound himself—gives “Soul Deposit” a warm urgency to just put the music out. It’s soulful, glitchy, and human, the sound of a family’s heartbeat when you hear MonoNeon, Grandma Liz and Momma Neon on the song together.
