In January of 2005, Marco De Virgiliis flew from Italy to the NAMM show in Anaheim, California, bringing with him a revolutionary line of bass amps, cabinets and combos. These new products were remarkable for their incredibly clear, true-to-the-source sound. But what sent shockwaves around the industry was that they weighed a fraction of what bassists had been previously accustomed to. Bass players rejoiced; Markbass emerged as the lead innovator in their field; and it didn’t take long before all the other bass amp brands followed suit, incorporating switching mode power supplies and neodymium speakers into their designs. There was no looking back for the bass amp industry, and there was no looking back for bass players around the world. This was truly a watershed moment.

Now, 17 years later… it’s time for a new revolution. And once again, Markbass is leading the charge. What’s in store for bass players now? How will Marco De Virgiliis improve the lives of bass players this time?

The future of bass amplification will be revealed, live from beautiful Pescara, Italy, on Thursday, June 30th.
