About Lloyd Anderson II

Hailing from Flint, Michigan, Lloyd Anderson II discovered his rhythmic pulse at just one year old behind a drum kit. While he didn’t pivot to the bass until age 18, his journey was defined by a raw, persistent passion; despite stepping away from the instrument twice in his youth, he ultimately realized he couldn’t outrun his calling.

In 2013, seeking to honor his late father’s legacy, Lloyd relocated to his father’s hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, to fully commit to his musical ambitions. This move sparked a meteoric rise. By 2015, he was circumnavigating the globe with the **BB King All Stars Band**, bringing his signature groove to international audiences. Now a resident of Las Vegas, Lloyd has anchored the stage for a diverse roster of icons, including Martha Wash, Wu-Tang Clan, and B. Slade, in addition to composing his own original work. Since 2024, he has held the prestigious position of full-time bassist for the legendary R&B group, Boyz II Men.
