Kenny James is a multi-instrument musician and producer from Chicago, IL, currently residing in the suburbs of Los Angeles, CA. His smooth delivery and rich sound give his music a familiar blend of up tempo beat and groovy vibe.
James has just released his latest installment of his Invisiblemann work titled Invisiblemann Vol 15 – Intergalactic Funk Coalition. The album features a blend of classic funk with modern twists, as James’ bass takes the spotlight on a record packed with guests.
The album will also debut on his new internet radio station – www.TheSoundofFreedomRadio.com
While bass is Kenny’s preferred instrument, he also excels at drums and keys. Aside from playing bass, Kenny is a producer under the moniker, Invisiblemann, producing music from Pop, Rock, Electronic, Jazz and R&B. He has produced 14 albums to-date of his own music, playing majority of the instruments and composing all the songs. Kenny joined Plugged Music Group as a producer in 1996, and their first big break came that same year when H-Gun Productions, famous for Public Enemy and Anthrax’s video, “Bring the Noise,” approached Kenny and his partner, Jim Colao, to do the music for the MTV Movie Awards. This led to commercial gigs as diverse as Comedy Central, Levi’s, and Cartoon Network. They also attracted a wide range of artists from all over the world. Additionally, Kenny has provided music for documentary films such as the controversial “In a Diamond’s Shadow,” which can be seen on the Plugged Music site. In addition as a producer, Kenny is a ghost writer for several up and coming artists in Asia and Europe.
While COVID-19 continues to bring uncertainty to everyone’s future, Kenny will continue playing and producing music he loves. His next album will be coming out in Jan. 2, 2022! He is also partnering with Leones Custom Bass to develop his signature bass guitar – KJ5. Get more info on the Leones Custom Bass website!
