Bassist Julia Lage of the band Vixen has just released her latest single, “The Ride,” which features fellow bassist dUg Pinnick on vocals along with Richie Kotzen on lead guitar, and Michael Odabashian on drums. Written and produced by Lage, the melodic and driving single showcases her range on bass, vocals, and guitar.

“I had this song written for a long time and when I was working on finishing it I would always hear in my head Dug Pinnick’s voice on it.,” says Lage. “Once I finally asked him if he would be kind enough to add his magic and he said yes, I felt like the happiest girl alive. I am a huge fan of his and respect his work so much. Richie Kotzen was also a no brainer. I needed the guitars sounding a certain way and for the solo I knew he was the perfect musician to do it! Richie is so incredibly talented. I remember he sat in the studio and tracked the solo in two takes because the first was to learn the song! Second take he was done! And it is so good! I feel blessed to have both sharing the song with me and I truly hope that people always remember that if they feel stuck or unmotivated, they can go ahead and change their reality! A music video for the single will be released on January 16th.
