The James Brandon Lewis trioโ€™s full length LP โ€˜Apple Coresโ€™ was released on Feb. 7, 2025 via Anti- records. Josh Werner provided the low end for the album, co-produced it and co-wrote it along with the mighty James Brandon Lewis and legendary drummer Chad Taylor.

Apple Cores take its name from poet and jazz theorist Amiri Barakaโ€™s Downbeat magazine column from the โ€˜60s. In addition to Baraka, the influence of another jazz giant looms mightily over Apple Cores: trumpeter and multi-instrumentalist, Don Cherry.

From Josh: This recording was a collective compositional process, which occurred over the course of two intense entirely improvised sessions. Here is a link to the streaming and official purchase sites, please reach out if youโ€™d like buy a copy from me personally. ย
