Eastwood Guitars Releases Peter Hook Signature Hooky Viking Pro Bass

After the success of theย Eastwood Hooky Bass 6 PRO, Hooky came back to us for the first ever production run of his original semi-acoustic bass idea, following how he went to Chris Eccleshall decades ago to create the original!

With access to Hookyโ€™s original for detailed research and pain-staking accuracy, we replicated it and created a prototype in 2022. Hooky was so pleased with the prototype that itโ€™s now on the road with him (customised as โ€œLolaโ€) and we then took this model into production to create theย first commercially available version of his 4 string, full scale length, semi acoustic bass.

The scale, feel, and electronics of Hookyโ€™s original were based on his 1980 solidbody Yamaha BB1200S. In his own words, his vintage Yamaha is โ€œa fierce guitarโ€ and itโ€™s the one thatโ€™s beenย featured on every record Peter Hook has played a 4 string bass on.ย

For his handmade original, Peter wanted to pair those Yamaha specs with aย semi-acoustic, hollow-body bass that would feedback more on stage and that became the semi-acoustic bass heโ€™s always used live since 1982.ย

Whether you play this in a studio or live, you will NOT be disappointed with this bass. Itโ€™s the best of all bass worlds – wrapped up in one Peter Hook approved package.

Included only in this first production batch will be a label inside each bass, hand signed by Peter Hook, along with a printed pamphlet that has the story of Hookyโ€™s original in his own words.
