Platinum-certified, alt-rock band Beach Weather tests the limits of toxic love on new single “Hardcore Romance,” released today alongside the album announcement for their forthcoming LP Melt, due this fall via Arista Records.

Sultry slide guitars, gritty vocals and intense production make up “Hardcore Romance,” a track focused on the romanticism of toxic relationships. Revealing more on the themes behind the single, guitarist Sean Silverman shares:

“[The song explores what] modern romance would look like to us, now at the point we’re at in our lives. Hardcore Romance was the first demo that Nick & I got to make in person. Right away it felt like we had tapped into something we’d never fully done before which was exciting but also came with a lot of self doubt. It’s even there in the opening lyrics of the song “I don’t wanna come back down to earth, I don’t really feel like myself”. I think whenever we get to that place where something feels challenging sonically/emotionally, it’s a good thing. The best we can do is try to not run away from that feeling and confront it.”

“Hardcore Romance” is the third official single off of Beach Weather’s second album Melt, set to be released on October 25th. The single follows “High In Low Places” – currently sitting at #25 on Alternative Radio – and “Hottest Summer On Record,” released earlier this year, kicking off the summer for Beach Weather.

On the official music video, Beach Weather returned to working with director, Alexa San Roman, who previously directed “Unlovable.” Red lights and grainy filters sweep over the band, as they perform the track onstage in an underground club. The video features two men caught in the middle of a love tug-of-war, fighting for each other’s attention. Featuring the band onstage while chaos ensues in front of them, this video is sure to get your attention.

The band is set to embark across the pond this fall, sharing new music with fans on their headline UK tour. They are also making an appearance in Arizona, performing at Tucson’s Dusk Festival in early November. See the full itinerary below.

Sunrise. They made stops at music festivals like BottleRock Napa Valley, Hangout Music Festival, and Shaky Knees, and toured with the likes of The Beaches and lovelytheband—continuing the momentum into 2024, kicking the year off with a sold-out North American headlining tour.

There are no signs of slowing down, having just shared various singles this year including “High in Low Places,” “Hottest Summer On Record,” and now “Hardcore Romance,” which will be a part of the band’s second album, Melt. Get ready for the desert disco.
