AXLAUSTADE, an instrumental grunge trio hailing from Montreal, announce their debut LP of the same name, AXLAUSTADE via La Tribu. Bass Magazine is premiering the first single from the album, “axl au stade”.

“axl au stade” is the lead single from AXLAUSTADE’S debut LP of the same name, out 11/19 on La Tribu. Self described, as grunge of the future as a new path, an instrumental friendship, “axl au stade” showcases the band’s modern approach to a beloved genre.

Bassist Jonathan Dauphinais says about the track, “This is a funny one. I was fooling around with the verse vocal melody of “Stranger” by Sigrid. It’s a really cool line. I like to play vocal melodies on the bass and build basslines with that in mind. At the same time I was thinking about Kim Gordon in “Bull in the Heather”, very steady and raw. That’s really how the song started. It gives space for the guitar to be hypnotic and to switch from minor to major.” 

The album was recorded in Montreal by Èric Lamothe, mixed in Los Angeles by Justin Raisen (Kim Gordon, Viagra Boys, Charli XCX) and mastered in LA by Mike Bozzi (Grammy award winner – “This Is America,” Childish Gambino.)
