Derek Frank Announces New Single and Live Performance

The Gwen Stefani and Shania Twain bassist releases a new Bee Gees cover and announces an upcoming show

From Derek Frank: It’s been well over a year since our last live performance, and I’m thrilled to announce that my band and I will be back at LA’s favorite jazz club The Baked Potato on Tuesday, November 29th! Two shows, 8pm & 10pm, tickets available at TheBakedPotato.com. Joining me once again will be Demian Arriaga on percussion, Joshua Ray Gooch on guitar, and flying out from Nashville, we have Ty Bailie on Keys and Petar Janjic on drums (making his Baked Potato debut!). We’ll be playing songs from my latest album Eleven Years Later, my first album Let The Games Begin.., plus a new single that I’m gonna talk about in the next lil’ piece of this email. Come enjoy some music, some cocktails, and carbo-load on their amazing giant baked potatoes.

After a recent sit-in with a Bee Gees Tribute band, I realized what a cool song “Jive Talkin'” is… so cool in fact, that I decided to plug my bass into a vocoder pedal, overdub a handful of bass tracks, and record a cover of it. I enlisted my friends Ty Bailie and Jake Hayden to play keys and drums on it, Cory Churko to mix it, and Matthew Jordan to edit a video for me… I think it turned out pretty cool! You can stream or download it at all the usual sites, check out the links HERE.
