Eddie Vedder’s fifth annual Ohana Festival returned to Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, CA to a sold out crowd. Eddie Vedder headlined the beachfront stage Friday and Saturday nights, with Pearl Jam headlining on Sunday.

For the first weekend, on Friday night Eddie was joined on stage with The Who bassist Pino Palladino, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, new Pearl Jam touring guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, and guitarists Andrew Watt and Glen Hansard. Eddie’s daughter Olivia also took to the stage for the first time to perform “My Father’s Daughter” with her dad. On Saturday his daughter Harper joined Eddie on his new solo single “Long Way

On Sunday evening, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready joined Brandi Carlile on stage for a cover of Soundgarden’s “Searching With My Good Eye Closed.” Brandi then joined Pearl Jam on stage for “Better Man.” 

The weekend also featured performances by My Morning Jacket, Maggie Rogers, Brandi Carlile, Black Pumas, The Frames, YOLA, Durand Jones & The Indications, CAAMP, Spoon, Mac Demarco, Sharon Van Etten, Mon Laferte, The Regrettes, Plague Vendor, Cold War Kids, Wild Belle, Jade Bird, Cavetown, Real Estate, Shovels & Rope, Greer, Kevin Garrett, Combo Chimbita, The Backseat Lovers, Brian Fallon, Night Moves, Pony Bradshaw, La Luz, Amo Amo, Modern Eyes, Son Little, The Aquadolls, Liz Brasher, Rob Machado, Will Dailey, Sky McCreery, Taz, Timmy Curran and Jonny Roundhouse.  

For the second weekend, on Friday and Saturday Eddie Vedder’s fifth annual Ohana Festival returned to Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, CA for its Encore weekend. The second weekend featured Pearl Jam as the headliner for both evenings, as well as performances by Beck, Brandi Carlile, Sleater-Kinney, Lord Huron, Margo Price, White Reaper, NHC (Navarro Hawkins Cheney), ZZ Ward, Pluralone, Anythyst Kiah, Joe Wong + Nite Creatures, St. Panther, Naked Giants and Vanillaroma.

Beyond Ohana’s musical line-up, the Storytellers Cove highlighted leading voices, experts, innovators and change makers with dynamic conversations on sustainability, wellness and more.  

CA Surgeon General Dr Nadine Burke Harris closed the Storyteller Stage on Saturday in a conversation moderated by KTLA’s Doug Kolk. The two discussed the impact of the pandemic on our mental health and our relationships, what Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are and what we can learn from them as adults, and how to minimize the toxic stress that negatively impacts our lives and overall health.

Social activists Benji Backer, President and Founder of American Conservation Coalition, and Manu Meel, CEO of BridgeUSA, discussed empowering our next generation of leaders and uniting people on both sides of the aisle to tackle climate change.

Ohana Festival was founded by Eddie Vedder in 2015. A portion of the proceeds from Ohana will benefit the San Onofre Parks Foundation and the Doheny State Beach Foundation. A full list of Ohana participating charities include Doheny State Beach Foundation, Rob Machado Foundation, San Onofre Parks Foundation, Sea Legacy, Surfrider Foundation – South OC Chapter, WSL PURE and Los Cerritos Wetlands Land Trust.
