As the world continues to recover from the Coronavirus, we're all finding ourselves in unfamiliar territory given the subsequent lockdown that is keeping us off of stages and confined to our homes. Luckily, there's comfort in the fact that we're all in this together, and that there are still many outlets for us musicians to keep us active and sane throughout this quarantine. We're checking in with bass players from all over the world to see what they're doing to stay entertained, healthy, productive, and safe during this trying time.

How have you been passing time during the lockdown?

Man, Tiger King feels like so long ago now right?

What have you been working on in terms of your bass practice routine?

“Practice? We don’t need no stinkin’ practice” Honestly though that is about right. Feeling rusty would be an understatement.

What music, songs, recordings, artists, bass players have you been listening to as a source of comfort and inspiration that you can recommend?

Oh, that’s an easy one! Check out my Spotify Playlist: Here

What bass gear have you been playing and trying out?

All my gear is in storage somewhere. I haven’t tried out anything new, but if some cool stomp box companies wanna send me some stuff to check out gimmie a shout!

What non-music activities books, shows, movies or workout recommendations do you have?

This reminds me of that scene in Step Brothers when they make the bunk beds and are so stoked that they will now have more room for “activities.” Seriously though… What We Do in the Shadows Season 2. The only show worth watching.

What projects do you have coming up when the world gets going again?

At that point I might just be so consumed by fear mongering that I will never leave my house again. I wasn’t a germophobe before this whole thing went down, but I sure am now!

What advice can you offer fellow bassists for staying positive and keeping morale high?

Now is a time to really focus on those projects you have been procrastinating on—like cleaning the gutters and planting an herb garden. It’s a bummer ’cause you can’t see someone’s BASS FACE behind a mask! Stay safe and healthy my friends!
