Designed to meet the demands of modern touring bassists, the DB 700 delivers the legendary, high-voltage tube-driven tone of the flagship DB 751 in a highly portable, travel-friendly format. By answering the core design question, “What do bassists need and is there a tool for that need?” Aguilar has engineered this compact amplifier to bring studio-quality, high-headroom performance to any stage or recording studio environment. 

At the core of the DB 700’s architecture is a hybrid design that pairs a high-voltage tube preamp with a highly efficient Class D power section. Driven by two 12AX7 preamp tubes, the front end uses the architecture of the DB 751 to preserve its signature harmonic richness and tonal detail. The amplifier delivers 700 watts of continuous power into a minimum load of 2.67 ohms via dual Speakon speaker outputs, providing immense clean headroom and compatibility with a wide range of cabinet configurations. 

The front-panel control layout offers straightforward, highly musical tone-shaping capabilities. It features a classic 3-band EQ consisting of Bass, Mid, and Treble controls, flanked by dedicated broadband boost switches. On the left, a Bright switch adds a natural top-end boost, while a Deep switch on the right provides broadband reinforcement to the bottom end. Together with the Input Gain and Master volume controls, this interface allows players to easily dial in the signature Aguilar sound, characterized by deep lows, rich mids, and crisp, smooth highs. 

To support modern recording and performance environments, the DB 700 integrates advanced digital cabinet simulation. The amplifier features the Aguilar Cabinet Suite, which can be accessed via a USB-C port to load SL or DB cabinet impulse responses (IRs), as well as custom user IR files. This system feeds directly to one of the unit’s dual XLR outputs, allowing players to send a fully simulated cabinet signal straight to the front-of-house mix or recording console without needing a physical microphone. 

The rear panel of the DB 700 is packed with versatile I/O routing options for studio integration, live performance, and silent practice. Along with the dual XLR outputs, equipped with ground lift and Pre/Post EQ switching, the amplifier features a series effects loop (Send and Return jacks) and a dedicated Tuner output. For silent rehearsal, the back panel includes an auxiliary input (Aux In), a headphone output (HP Out), and a dedicated Headphone Mix control to seamlessly blend external audio with the bass signal. 

Built to withstand the rigors of global transit, the DB 700 weighs just 11.2 pounds and measures 15.5″ x 11.35″ x 3.5″. The chassis is fully rack-mountable, and Aguilar includes dedicated rack ears with every unit to simplify integration into flight cases and touring racks. Facilitating global touring, the amplifier features universal mains compatibility (100–240V), allowing musicians to use the amplifier anywhere in the world by simply changing the power cable.
