Frontman. Singer-songwriter. World-renowned upright bassist. Multi-instrumentalist. For the past decade, Scott Mulvahill has left his unique mark on the intersecting worlds of Americana, bluegrass, folk, jazz, rock & roll, and roots music. Already acclaimed for his work alongside icons like Ricky Skaggs and Bruce Hornsby, he began making a name for himself as a versatile solo artist with 2018’s Himalayas, an acclaimed album that showcased the work of a songwriter whose songs swooned, soothed, and startled the listener in equal measure. A road warrior whose recent schedules includes an acclaimed performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series and a string of cross-country headlining shows, Scott Mulvahill now turns his attention to the release of Creative Potential. Produced by John Fields, this 5 song EP showcases Scott’s versatility and pop sensitive songwriting. Fields shared his thoughts on Scott and the music, “Scott’s depth of talent is incredible. His seemingly effortless writing and playing are a breath of fresh air in today’s musical landscape.”

Here is the debut of the title track from the album, “Creative Potential”

Scott met John while playing a show in Minneapolis and it quickly became a mutual belief in each other, “You go to a producer hoping they bring something out of you that you didn’t know was there – John certainly did that.’ Scott shares, “In the sound and style of the tracks and especially the way he pushed me to sing, I think he found some uncharted territory in my voice and I’ll always thank him for that. We started with the goal of these songs making you move, and I think we did it. Plus we just had so much fun working on it.. I can’t sing these without going back to the sessions in my mind.”
