Bassist Jason Raso has just released his latest instructional book, “Raso’s Rollicking Rhythm Reader for Electric Bass.”

Over the past two decades, nine albums and countless live performances, Jason Raso has shown that he not only has the skills to pay the bills, but more often than not, enough musical currency left over at the end of the month to make good on the debts other musicians have welched on.

With over 25 years of teaching experience, Jason can help take your bass playing to the next level!

Jason is a frequent columnist for Canadian Musician Magazine and author of Bass Line Continuum, Improvising on Electric Bass: A Chord Tone Approach, Soloing on Electric Bass – Mel Bay, Untangling Chords: Triad Spelling for Guitar and Power-Play Pentatonics for Guitar.

“Jason has put together a great short simple guidebook to get up and in the bass world. I remember my first Mel Bay book way back when, and this book sticks in my mind like that one. I love the rhythmic examples and how once you figure out they are rhythms you’ve heard before on songs, it clicks into your brain and you can see them a mile away on a chart. Great job Jason, let’s get a coffee!” – Matt Bissonette (Elton John)

“It has been my pleasure to get to know, and work with Jason over the years. I am a big fan of his playing and his educational content. Here is a perfect resource to help bass players learn to read and understand rhythmic notation, from whole notes to 16th notes. Some of my students play very well, but don’t have a foundation in reading notes or rhythm. This book will be invaluable to them!” – Stuart Hamm (Solo Artist, Joe Satriani)

“Learning to read rhythms and play them accurately is an essential skill for bassists. Jason has created a straight-forward, easy to use resource that will send you well on your way to mastery. I highly recommend it!” – Michael Manring (Solo Artist)
