Ten talented bassists will be selected to compete for valuable prizes that will be contributed by each of the sponsors.

Phil Jones Bass and LaBella strings will bring their popular Solo Bass Competition to NAMM for the first time on Thursday January 16 at 7:00 at the Clarion Hotel. The contest has become an annual tradition each Fall in New York in conjunction with The Lords of the Low End bass event. Additional sponsors for the competition’s NAMM debut will include bass manufacturers Warwick, NS Design, Marleux, Brubaker, Sandberg, and Lathon; as well as Bass Magazine and Gizmotron.

Ten talented bassists will be selected to compete for valuable prizes that will be contributed by each of the sponsors. Finalists will be chosen in advance of the contest after submitting 5 minute video auditions for consideration.

Celebrity judges already confirmed include Bakithi Kumalo (Paul Simon), Lee Sklar, Bob Glaub, Oskar Cartaya, Jerry Watts, and Juan Alderete. Passes for the event will be available for through sponsors.

Established in 2002, PJB and AIRPULSE Guitar Amps are divisions of Phil Jones American Acoustic Development. PJB is dedicated to using the latest technology in the design of compact bass amps and loudspeakers that achieve highest in fidelity and volume. Phil Jones owns several patents for loudspeaker technology.
