The Red Hot Chili Peppers closed out weekend two of Austin City Limits this past weekend with an explosive set to headline the night. Flea and co. started with “Can’t Stop,” and then kicked into a set spanning over 30 years with hits like “Dani California,” “Scar Tissue,” “Snow ((Hey Oh))” and “Californication.” This performance included the live debut of “Eddie,” which was written as a tribute to the great Eddie Van Halen. Frusciante got to take the mic for the Ramones “I Remember You,” which he performed the guitar solo for. Flea performed his signature song “Pea,” which is a rarity to see these days. After playing “Give it Away,” which was their long time closer, they did an encore of “By the Way.”
