Ashdown Engineering, world-class manufacturers of bass guitars, bass and guitar amplifiers, welcome Glenn Hughes to our ever-growing family of artists.

After meeting Glenn at the NAMM show in 2020 at the launch of our Ashdown Basses, we started talking… Glenn instantly fell in love with the look and playability of our Low Rider bass at the show after sitting and playing it for quite some time we were asked if it came in gold, and could it have a tortoise shell pic guard? And can you do me a matching p-bass? Now, a lot transpired over the coming months… As you all know 2020 and much of 2021 was written off due to the pandemic and Glenn’s ability to travel or tour with his band The Dead Daisies. So, the basses got put on hold…

A few months ago the world started to get back to some kind of normality, gigs were booked, and people started to get out again, we had a phone call from Glenn’s manager Jimmy saying Glenn was going to be in London for the up coming Dead Daisies show and would we be able to get the basses done in time…

Needless to say, we jumped at the chance and had two custom finished basses put together for Glenn and we headed down to meet with him over a bit of afternoon tea. We talked basses, touring, the pandemic, and everything in between.

Glenn was impressed with the basses and excited to get out and use them on that nights show with the Dead Daisies at Shepard’s Bush Empire.

Glenn is using a production unit Ashdown Low-Rider bass in Gold with a tortoise shell effect pick guard. And an Ashdown Arc in matching Gold and tort guard.

The Dead Daisies take to the road again in 2022 with a string of dates across Europe starting in Essen on the 1st of Feb 2022 and running through to March 15th in Norway as well as some festival shows booked for the summer of 2022.
